Motor Lublin are making late moves in the transfer market, signing young forward Mateusz Posmyk and finalising the arrival of a Senegalese midfielder. The Lublin club, currently 15th in the Ekstraklasa with five points, is active in the market to improve a poor start to the season.

Information about the new players was provided by coach Mariusz Misiura in a conversation with "Dziennik Wschodni". "Transfers? Mateusz Posmyk from Górnik Zabrze has joined us." the coach said.

Who is Mateusz Posmyk?

Mateusz Posmyk is a 17-year-old forward who joined Motor on Saturday. The 195 cm tall player signed a contract valid until 30 June 2029. In recent years, he played in the Central Junior League and the reserves of Górnik Zabrze, and also made his debut in the III liga in the 2024/25 season. For Warta Gorzów Wielkopolski that season, he made seven short appearances, totalling about 50 minutes. In the autumn round of the following season, he played seven games for Warta, spent over 220 minutes on the pitch, and scored one goal. In the spring, he returned to Górnik, where he played in the junior league (eight games, one goal) and the III liga (eleven games, one goal). This season, he made three appearances in the Central Junior League, and on 2 September he scored a goal in the Polish Cup in a 3:4 loss to Olimpia Grudziądz. His transfer was possible after Górnik's decision to liquidate its reserve team, similar to Motor's summer decision.

What are the plans for the Senegalese midfielder?

Motor Lublin is close to registering a defensive midfielder from Senegal, whom coach Misiura had previously inquired about. The player is already in Lublin, and the club is waiting for the formal procedures to be completed. "I hope the documents that have reached us will allow us to register him," added Misiura. This is already the third Senegalese player in the Lublin squad during this window, following the earlier transfers of Rony Lopes, who joined on Tuesday, and another forward. The full team squad can be viewed on our squad page.

What is Motor Lublin's current situation?

Misiura's team, after seven rounds of the Ekstraklasa, has only one win, two draws, and four losses. They have scored eight goals but conceded thirteen, giving them a goal difference of minus five. They trail league leaders Legia Warszawa by ten points. The coach, however, believes in the team's potential. "I think we have a very good squad, that an interesting team has been built." he assessed.

When is Motor's next match?

The next test for Motor Lublin's strengthened squad will be a home match against Widzew Łódź scheduled for 12 December 2026. The opponent currently occupies 13th place in the table. Before this match, the team will have time to integrate the new players and work on improving their play. The current league table and match schedule can be followed on our standings and fixtures pages. Young forward Mateusz Posmyk's contract runs until the end of June 2029.
