Motor Lublin has announced its first summer transfer. Mihai Popa, former CFR Cluj goalkeeper, has joined the team.
Who is Mihai Popa?
Mihai Popa is a 25-year-old goalkeeper who started his career at FCV Farul. He then moved to Gheorge Hagi's academy, where he spent eight years.
In senior football, he made his debut at the age of 18, playing for Farul Konstanca. His CV also includes: Astra Giurgiu, Rapid Bukareszt, and FC Voluntari. Since 2023, he has been playing for either Torino or CFR Cluj.
Why did Popa choose Motor Lublin?
- League: 8th place in Ekstraklasa, 39 points, 9W-12D-8L from 29 games, recent form: LDDWW
- Last result: Legia Warszawa 4-0 Motor Lublin (2026-05-23)
Popa chose Motor Lublin because the team from Lublin is starting a new project, and he wants to be part of this family. The new coach and sports director also played a significant role in his decision.
What's next?
Motor Lublin still has a lot of work to do to fill the gaps in the squad. Previously, 12 players left the team, so Veljko Nikitovic has many challenges ahead. | Player | Previous club | | --- | --- | | Mihai Popa | CFR Cluj | | Ivan Brkić | Legia Warszawa | | Michał Król | Wisła Płock | | Bartosz Wolski | GKS Katowice |
