Motor Lublin extended their unbeaten run with a goalless draw against Górnik Zabrze. The Ekstraklasa matchday nine fixture ended 0-0, giving the Lublin side a valuable point in their battle against relegation.
The match on Friday, 19 September, was evenly balanced statistically. Motor had 46% possession to Górnik's 54%. Both teams created a similar number of chances, the hosts registered 14 shots with three on target, while the visitors managed 13 shots with two on target. Goalkeeper Grzegorz Tratnik made two saves for Motor, and his Zabrze counterpart made three.
Goalless first half
The opening phase was cautious. The first yellow card came in the 22nd minute for a foul by Motor's Ivo Rodrigues. An injury to the Portuguese midfielder forced manager Mariusz Misiura into an early change. Mateusz Legowski entered the pitch in the 34th minute. The coach himself received a yellow card for dissent a minute later.
Second half and substitutions
The game did not gain tempo after the break. Górnik picked up two yellow cards for fouls by Rafał Janicki and Janis Antiste. Motor responded with aggressive pressing, resulting in 15 fouls. In the 72nd minute, Misiura made a double substitution, bringing on Rony Lopes and Fabio Ronaldo. Górnik also rotated their squad, but neither team found a path to goal. Motor's Marek Bartoś received a yellow card in added time.
The point against the league leaders is a significant step for Motor, who had only one win this season prior to the match. The team sits in 17th place with five points from eight games. Their top scorer remains Krzysztof Czubak with five goals. The next test is an away fixture against Radomiak Radom on 12 October.
