Motor Lublin bolster defence with new signing Tin Plavotić

Motor Lublin have officially completed the signing of Tin Plavotić. The 29-year-old centre-back arrives on a free transfer and has put pen to paper on a deal running until 30 June 2028, with an option to extend for a further season.

As of now, Motor Lublin sit 12th in the Ekstraklasa table after 34 games in the 2025 season, with 43 points from 10 wins, 13 draws and 11 losses. Their recent run reads LLDWL, and their last outing ended in a 0-4 defeat at Legia Warsaw on 23 May 2026.

Who is the new Motor Lublin defender?

Tin Plavotić was born in Vienna and began his career at SV Schwechat. He then spent five years in the youth academy of Admira Wacker Mödling before moving to Germany at 18, where he turned out for Schalke 04’s U19 and reserve sides.

He later played in England for Bristol City, Cheltenham Town and Barnet FC. On his return to Austria he joined Floridsdorfer AC, making 67 league appearances and six cup outings. He then moved to SV Ried, racking up 69 appearances. His longest senior spell came at Austria Wien, where he made 79 league appearances, scored six goals and provided five assists.

Above all, Plavotić brings Bundesliga-level experience and Austrian top-flight medals - silver and bronze - to the squad. His defensive nous and senior pedigree could prove crucial for Motor Lublin’s push to stay in the Ekstraklasa.

The defender arrives as his new side have taken just one point from their last five games (LLDWL), including back-to-back losses. Stability at the back is exactly what the team needs, and the new recruit could be the missing piece.
