Motor Lublin have confirmed the return of Tomasz Jasik to the club's coaching staff as an assistant coach. Head coach Mariusz Misiura announced the appointment at a Thursday press conference ahead of Saturday's Ekstraklasa fixture against Śląsk Wrocław.

Misiura expressed clear satisfaction with the move. “This is a significant strengthening for us,” the coach said. He highlighted the extensive top-flight experience Jasik brings to the set-up. “Tomek has been an assistant at Ekstraklasa clubs for six or seven seasons now,” Misiura added.

Jasik's Background

The 40-year-old coach is a familiar face in Lublin. He worked in Motor's youth setup from 2015 to 2019 and later served as an assistant to Mirosław Hajdy in the first team at the second and third division levels. In recent years, he gained experience in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, holding assistant roles at Wisła Płock, Raków Częstochowa, and Cracovia. He previously worked with Misiura at Płock and completed his UEFA Pro licence course alongside him in February of this year.

His role at Motor will be broad. Misiura stated that Jasik will contribute to match strategy, individual player development, and the overall growth of the team. The head coach believes adding another specialist will enhance the quality of work with the squad.

Club Context

The staff reinforcement comes at a key point in the season. Motor Lublin sit 14th in the Ekstraklasa table with nine points from ten matches. The team is coming off an important 3-2 win against Radomiak Radom but is still searching for greater consistency. The club has managed just one positive unbeaten run this season, a two-match streak, and has taken only four points from its last five games. On Saturday, they face newly-promoted Śląsk Wrocław, who are currently 17th with just seven points. Śląsk have lost four of their last five matches, most recently a 0-1 defeat to Lech Poznań. The game is scheduled for October 17th.

Misiura also addressed vacancies in the club's structure. Following the departure of sporting director Veljko Nikitović at the end of September, advanced talks are ongoing with several candidates for the role. The coach expects a new appointment to be made in the coming days. Details of upcoming matches can be found on our fixtures page.
