Motor Lublin coach Mariusz Misiura has outlined his tactical approach for a challenging home fixture against Zaglebie Lubin. The Ekstraklasa matchday 11 clash is scheduled for Wednesday, 23 October, at the club's stadium. The team, sitting 12th with 12 points, has a chance to close the 14-point gap to the league leaders.
Misiura anticipates a physically demanding, stop-start game where the opponents will dominate possession. “It could be a scrappy match,” the coach said. He stressed his team must be prepared for direct defensive work, especially when the ball is in their penalty area. Despite the expected challenges, Motor will try to build and play their own football.
Recent form and league position
The Lublin side enters this match on the back of two consecutive wins, both secured in stoppage time. They beat Slask Wroclaw 3-2 last time out, following a 3-2 victory over Radomiak Radom. Their form over the last four games reads two wins, one draw and one loss. These wins have kept Motor in 12th place in the Ekstraklasa standings with 12 points from 11 games (3 wins, 3 draws, 5 losses). The club has scored 15 goals and conceded 19, giving them a goal difference of minus four. Top scorer Karol Czubak has netted 6 times this season ahead of the midweek encounter.
Misiura expressed satisfaction with the recent points but emphasised the priority of process over immediate results. The coach believes the squad has players looking towards the top five positions rather than the bottom three. “The team is helping players become better and will become stronger,” he added. The club is also working to strengthen its structure, with a search for a new sporting director underway.
The opponent, Zaglebie Lubin, currently sits in 7th place. The last meeting between the sides, on 20 March this year, ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Motor. Looking back at recent results, before the wins over Slask and Radomiak, Motor drew 0-0 with Gornik Zabrze and lost 1-2 to Raków Częstochowa. In the victory over Slask, goals for Motor came from Makan Aiko, Christopher Simon and Yacine Bourhane, while in the match against Radomiak, the scorers were Mbaye Jacques Ndiaye, Karol Czubak and Christopher Simon again.
