Motor Lublin ended the league leaders' winning streak by holding Górnik Zabrze to a goalless draw. The 0-0 result in Lublin halted the visitors' run of four consecutive victories and gave the hosts a valuable point.
Motor, sitting 16th in the Ekstraklasa with just six points before the match, effectively neutralised the attack of one of the league's best teams. In the very first minute, Maksym Chłań created danger. "He first hit the joint of the goalpost, trying to lift the ball over the intervening Gasper Tratnik," said the Górnik forward. Shortly after, Malthe Hojholt struck the post from distance. "He hit the post from range," the player added.
Górnik had more initiative, but Motor's defence, backed by good interventions from Tratnik, remained solid. In the 31st minute, Motor had to make an early substitution when Ivo Rodrigues left the pitch with a shoulder injury. He was replaced by Mateusz Łęgowski. Before halftime, Kacper Urbański blocked a dangerous shot from the opponents.
After the break, chances were fewer. In the 49th minute, Mbaye Ndiaye made a poor decision that cost Motor a clear opportunity to take the lead. Chłań had a few more attempts but could not beat the goalkeeper. In the end, the teams shared the points.
This draw marks Motor Lublin's second consecutive goalless result in the league and is an important step forward after the defeat to Raków. Coach Dariusz Dźwigała's team remains in the relegation zone, but this point could provide a confidence boost ahead of further challenges.
