Motor Lublin is expecting a third player from Senegal, but the transfer is being held up by visa formalities. Coach Mariusz Misiura confirmed the situation in an interview with Dziennik Wschodni.
The club has been in talks with a defensive midfielder, whose identity has not yet been revealed. All the club's paperwork is ready, but the final arrival date depends on administrative offices. "All the purely paper matters have been settled for a long time, everything is agreed, we are in constant contact with the player," said Misiura. He added that the player already has a work permit, but the visa is still being processed.
Who already plays for Motor from Senegal?
Motor Lublin already has two successful Senegalese players in the squad. Jacques Ndiaye joined the club in January 2024 for around 150 thousand euros and quickly became a key player. Last season, in 24 matches, he scored eight goals and provided two assists. In the current campaign, after five appearances, he has one goal and two assists. His market value has increased significantly.
The second Senegalese player is Christopher Simon, who arrived in Lublin in the summer. The player known as Kikis had a loan spell at first-division Puszcza Niepołomice, but since returning to the team he has been in good form. Why does the new player need time?
Coach Misiura emphasises that the new midfielder will require an adaptation period. "He comes to us with the feeling that we believe in him very much, but we have to help him through a certain period of time," explained the coach. He noted that the player has the potential to become a leading figure in the number six position, but needs time to integrate into the club's training process.
This integration phase is standard for players arriving from different cultural and league environments. The club hopes that after this phase, the player will significantly strengthen the centre of the pitch.
